I am a self-taught guitarist. Although I'm not a professional musician, I play the guitar daily and I love it with a passion. I sincerely hope this guided tour helps you begin your journey to learn the guitar.

Why is it easy to learn to play the guitar? Well I think, mainly its because of the method of annotation on the guitar called “tablature”. It’s like painting by numbers. Let me show you what I mean.
To play a song on the guitar, you basically need to know the musical "chords" that make up the song. So in order to learn, we first give each finger a number and each “fret” and “string” on the guitar a number too.
Now with these two together, you can follow these instructions easily. For example, here is how you would learn to play the D major chord:
See how easy it is now? Considering that most songs, even some of the greatest hits, contain only 3-5 chords, you can learn to play almost any song by mastering the basic chord structures. Now that you know how easy it is to learn, all you need is the RIGHT set of instructions!
